Fall Activities

Wild River Audubon offers a unique variety of activities each year designed to bring people together to celebrate the natural beauty and heritage of our community. We are about stewardship, education and the enjoyment of birds and the natural world we share with them. Here is what you can look forward to this coming fall. Join the fun!

Fall Canoe Trip on the St. Croix, Pot Luck Chili Dinner

Saturday, October 9, 2 pm
Sunrise River Landing

Pack up your canoe and head for the Sunrise River Landing at the St. Croix for a two hour trip down stream to the Wild River State Park. This may be your last chance of the season to feel the river beneath your canoe and take in an afternoon of fall colors along the banks. We'll put in at 2:00 and paddle or float our way to the park.  Arriving at the park, we'll head to the Visitor Center and enjoy the warmth of good company and a pot luck supper at 5:00. Don't forget to bring your life jackets! Wild River State Park    Maps of the park

Wild River Audubon Annual Bird Seed Sale

Saturday, October 16, 9:00 AM til Noon.
Lindstrom and North Branch,

Stock up for a winter of feeding the birds and support Wild River Audubon at the same time. This is our only fund raiser of the year, and is also a great opportunity to provide your back yard birds with the freshest seed around. The sale will take place at the usual sites in Lindstrom by the stop light,, at the corner of Hwy. 8 and County Road 20 and in North Branch at the corner of Highways 95 and 61 by the stop light. Thanks to Marlys Cleveland, Thrivent once again will generously provide matching funds. Thrivent members are especially encouraged to come out and support the effort. This is a great chance to get involved and help out and meet your fellow birders.

To volunteer at either site, call Dayle DeClerq at 257-5045.

Election Day, November 2

Look for our pre-election issue where we will feature responses to our candidate questionnaires. Find out where the candidates stand on issues of importance to our environment!
