April 26 at 6:30 p.m. Meet at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. Bring gloves, wear sturdy shoes or boots. We provide vests and trashbags. Contact person: Dayle DeClercq (257-5045).

Sunrise River Clean-up May 15, 9:00 a.m. Meet at Riverside Park in Sunrise. Wear boots and bring gloves. Contact person: Gary Noren (237-0836).

Book Reading/Signing Potato City, by Sue Leaf

Meet Sue Leaf, author of Potato City, a book of Nature, History, and Community in the Age of Sprawl, just published by Borealis Books, an imprint of the Minnesota Historical Society Press. Sue has a Ph.D in zoology, has taught environmental science at Cambridge Community College, written extensively about the natural world around her, and also happens to be the president of our Wild River Audubon chapter.
